Cathedral View is a Georgian townhouse, situated in Durham's city centre. It's just five minutes' walk into the Market Place and ten minutes to the cathedral. The house enjoys south facing panoramic views of the cathedral, city and surrounding countryside. Riverside walks are also a stroll away.
We are family owned and run supported by a small team of devoted, friendly and attentive ladies who take a genuine interest in looking after our guests. All rooms are en-suite and furnished in co-ordinating fabrics by Sanderson and Dorma.
The rooms are provided with remote control colour T.V.s with teletext, alarm clock radios, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, hair driers and trouser presses. Iron and ironing board available upon request.
Extensive menu using top quality ingredients including fresh fruit and free range eggs and pork.
Business travellers: Some rooms are equipped with large desks and reading lamps. Free broadband access via wi-fi.

Directions
By car
Leave A1 at A690 and follow signs for Durham. After 1.5 miles take fourth exit at roundabout. The guest house is 100 yards on left side of road.
On foot
From railway station (20 minutes)
From booking office - walk along the footpath towards the city and take path on left, down the steps to roundabout. Go straight ahead at pedestrian crossing and walk past Passport Office on Milburngate Bridge. Follow the slip road with Gala theatre and library on left. Turn left onto Claypath and walk up the hill past 'The Big Jug' public house, continue throught traffic lights. Claypath becomes Gilesgate at Tinklers Lane (on right-hand side). The property is situated on right at the brow of the hill, opposite block of flats known as 'The Chains'
N.B. The guesthouse does not have any signs other than 212 in stylised stained glass figures above the door.
Double/Twin room £80 - £90 per room, inclusive of full English breakfast and VAT.
