Hononton Cottage is a Sixteen Century Grade 2 listed farmhouse typical of the Kentish Weald, tile hung with a wealth of exposed beams throughout and inglenook firplaces. Situated about a mile from the centre of the picturesque village of Brenchley at the end of a quiet lane surrounded by apple orchards.
The two rooms are both double aspect and have been sympathetically modernised. Willowpit is on the ground floor with its own entrance, ideal for the less mobile, has twin beds and an en suite bathroom with shower over. You can relax on the settee and admire the views of the Wood, garden and orchard.
Furnace Pond is on the first floor with a double bed and its own large en suite shower. This is a comfortable room with outstanding views of the orchards, Furnace Pond, Horsmonden and Goudhurst with its prominent church tower on the horizon.
In the Spring the hillsides are a sea of soft pink apple blossom. The rooms have hospitality trays, local apple juice and water, colour TV, radio/CD player, hairdryer and ironing board. Willowpit also has a small fridge.
Breakfast is served in the heavily beamed dining room at the oak refectory table where we serve traditional cooked, continental and healthy fare. Fresh produce is sourced from local suppliers, growers and Farmers Markets wherever possible and all preserves are home made.
