Thorpe Lodge is a Georgian country house surrounded by 12 acres of beautiful woodland and garden. Tommy and Juliet Jowitt offer a warm welcome to guests from all over the world - and their dogs, who will meet the resident standard poodles.
The South Wing of the house contains two very large twin/double rooms, both with en-suite bathrooms with showers. In addition there are tea/coffee making facilities, a guest fridge and plenty of books and videos. The rooms are decorated traditionally, with mostly antique furniture, and are exceptionally comfortable - particularly the beds, with their cool crisp cotton bedlinen. Between the two bedrooms there is a sitting room with television. Guests have their own entrance and can come and go as they please
Full English breakfasts are served in the main dining room of the house, and delicious three-course dinners can also be booked by arrangement. A list of local recommended reaturants and pubs is supplied on request, and there is a wide variety of excellent places to choose from.
Guests are encouraged to explore the gardens, which have been created since 1982 by Tommy Jowitt. They are opened through the National Gardens Scheme at the end of July. Themed borders, the walled garden, the hornbeam walk - there is plenty to see and enjoy, and all within 1 1/2 miles of Ripon.

Directions
Take the Knaresborough Road, signed to Bishop Monkton, off the southern (Harrogate) end of the Ripon bypass. After 3/4 mile, turn left into a drive marked Thorpe Lodge, and carry on round to the courtyard following the Bed and Breakfast signs.
