Blackyett Mains is a recently opened small bed and breakfast, catering for those who want a quiet and peaceful break, away from the hustle and bustle of normal life.
Our rooms have all the facilities you would expect for a luxury stay, crisp cotton sheets, warm blankets and bedspreads, hospitality trays and LCD televisions.
In our bathrooms you will find luxurious soft towels, a range of Arran Aromatics and handmade organic soaps, from the Simply Organic Soap Company.
Breakfasts times are between 7 30am and 9am, but can be arranged to suit yourself, so you can take your time and relax into the local pace of life.
Whether it's a full Scottish Breakfast to set you up for the day, or something lighter, we have an extensive menu to choose from such as ; smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or apple pancakes with maple syrup; all of our breakfast dishes are sourced locally and our eggs are free range.
We are only four miles from the A74(M) and the A75, so we are ideally placed for all of the Dumfries and Galloway attractions, such as golf.
There are more than twenty golf courses in Dumfries and Galloway alone and more than one hundred in South West Scotland; ranging from coastal links to parkland courses.
You can also try mountain biking, since three of the seven stanes are situated close by.
Gretna Green's famous marriage rooms are only four miles away; also nearby is the Gretna Food Hall, where you can watch cookery demonstrations, using local produce plus a range of gift shops.
We mustn't forget the Designer Outlet Centre at Gretna, in case you feel the need for a little retail-therapy.
