Craigvar is beautifully situated overlooking the Square in the unique and charming Victorian Spa village of Strathpeffer. It is a distinctive Grade B listed Georgian house which offers luxury
accommodation and wonderful food. It was built in 1839 and has undergone extensive restoration and renovation. Our aim is to give all of our guests a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable stay.
All of our bedrooms are exceptionally well appointed and there are many personal touches to make you feel at home: a welcoming decanter of sherry, fresh fruit, bathrobes as well as a television, direct-dial telephone and a refreshment tray.
There is also an extensive selection of videos and books for your enjoyment.
Craigvar is an exceptionally good touring base from which to explore the Highlands and Islands. We are 45 minutes from Ullapool on the West coast, 40 minutes from Loch Ness and under 2 hours from John o' Groats. There are also distilleries within easy reach and a close up view of oil rigs can be had at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth. We are perfectly located for hill walking, fishing, pony trekking and bird watching. There is a host of nearby amenities which include: bowling, golf, a sports centre and swimming pool.
There is regular entertainment locally in the season and a Pipe Band plays in the Square every Saturday evening along with Highland dancers from the local dancing school. The Strathpeffer games are in early August.
Why not get away from it all and enjoy a special break amid peaceful surroundings in Strathpeffer's spectacular setting? We look forward to welcoming you to Craigvar.
