The Gables was built in 1907 by the then mayor of Bridport, William Saunders Edwards, the principal of Edwards Nets, who still make the nets for Wimbledon to this day. It is an elegant Edwardian house with countryside views, easy access to coast and footpaths, yet only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Bridport with its wide variety of shops and twice weekly street market.
The Jurassic coast scenic route bus stops almost on the doorstep and the harbour of West Bay is less than two miles away.
We offer clean and comfortable bedrooms, with period furniture, either en suite or with private facilities and quality complimentary toiletries. All have tea, coffee and bottled mineral water provided. We are a television free oasis where home cooked (and where possible home grown) food is a feature.
