The INN is situated on the waterfront of the picturesque village of St Mary's, ideally located to visit the whole of Orkney - especially the south part of the mainland and the connected south isles.
We are a short distance from the Italian Chapel and the Tomb of the Eagles. Nearby, the Churchill Barriers offer some of the best shore diving sites amongst the wrecks of Scapa Flow.
The INN was originally built in the 1830's as an Inn for farmers and traders to stay in whilst waiting for the boats to the South Isles after a day at the market, but the village of St Mary's did not develop until the latter half of the 19th Century to support the growing herring fishing industry.
We are located six miles from Kirkwall and on the main bus route. Recently refurbished with spacious rooms, all with en-suite facilities. Most of our rooms have views over Holm Bay with the Churchill Barriers and the Italian Chapel in the background.
Our breakfast menu is varied with local produce used whenever possible, and can be enjoyed in the spacious dining room with views over the Bay. Packed lunches and special diets catered for on request.
In the evening, you can relax in the lounge and watch Sky TV on the large plasma screen. DVD's and books are also available.
